Bidzina Ivanishvili secures final victory in legal battle against Swiss Bank Credit Suisse
The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council of the United Kingdom, the highest court of appeal in the country, has delivered its final ruling in the case involving Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Swiss banking giant Credit Suisse.
In its decision, the Privy Council unanimously dismissed CS Life’s appeal, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse, against Ivanishvili on all issues except for the precise date when the assessment of damages should commence. The court also rejected the cross-appeal.
Consequently, the court reaffirmed the rulings of previous courts that had ordered the Swiss bank to compensate Bidzina Ivanishvili for the damages he suffered.
