Bera Ivanishvili’s lawyer files lawsuit against TV Pirveli, Formula TV in City Court

Davit Asatiani, lawyer of Bera Ivanishvili (son of Georgian Dream Honorary Chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili), filed a lawsuit against TV Pirveli and Formula TV in the Tbilisi City Court

Bera Ivanishvili demands that the two TV companies retract the information disseminated about him.

“The lawsuit concerns the dissemination of claims that are based on falsehoods and bear no relation to reality. The plaintiff seeks a retraction of these claims appropriately and for them to be declared defamatory,” Asatiani said, adding that the TV stories are based on facts where the plaintiff is accused of his hypothetical links to criminal disputes.

“This has no justification. Every individual possesses honor, dignity, and a reputation. The plaintiff is a musician, producer, and composer with no connection whatsoever to politics; yet, unfortunately, defamatory statements are still being disseminated against him. It is the plaintiff’s right to challenge this through legal means. Those who disseminated defamatory statements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, must be held accountable under law,” the lawyer said.
