Batumi is nominated for the World Travel Awards in the category of the rapidly growing tourist destination in Europe.

Whether or not Batumi will receive a prestigious award in the tourism industry it will be revealed on June 8 in Madeira. The competitors of Batumi are Sofia (Bulgaria), Matera (Italy), Baku (Azerbaijan), Ljubljana (Slovakia), Kutna Hora (Czech Republic), Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Derry (Northern Ireland).

Until April 28, anyone could vote for Batumi on the official website.

Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Government of Adjara and Sulkhan Glonti, Chairman of the Department of Tourism of Adjara, as well as other members of the delegation will attend the award ceremony.
