The Georgian national basketball team will wrap up its preparations for EuroBasket with a friendly match against the Czech Republic today. The game kicks off at 20:00, with live coverage on GPB First Channel.

This marks the sixth consecutive warm-up game for Aleksandar Džikić’s squad en route to the European Championship. Georgia has previously faced defeat in all matches, including a closed-door encounter with the Czechs on August 19.

Captain Tornike Shengelia will miss today’s game as he undergoes rehabilitation in Spain; he is expected to join the team in Limassol, Cyprus, before EuroBasket begins. The Barcelona player was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia following tests after an injury during the match against Estonia.

Unlike the previous fixture against the Czech Republic, Džikić will have Toronto Raptors player Sandro Mamukelashvili available, who has recovered from a minor injury.

The match will take place in Pardubice, after which the Georgian team will travel to Cyprus.

Georgia’s EuroBasket campaign begins on August 28 with a game against Spain. The C group also includes hosts Cyprus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, and Italy.
