Ban on supply of food with plastic containers, cups for public eateries postponed 

An amendment has been made to the Resolution of the Government of Georgia #304 of June 8, 2022, “On the Technical Regulation – Plastic Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food.”

According to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, enacting the ban on the supply of food with single-use plastic containers and cups for public eateries has been postponed.

January 1, 2027, has been set as the new effective date for the ban on food containers, while July 1, 2027,  has been determined as the new effective date for the ban on single-use cups.
