Azerbaijan's President says additional USD 100 million invested in BTK project

An additional USD 100 million has been invested in Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway project that will increase its capacity from the current one million to five million tons, said Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev at the trilateral meeting among Presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The President of Azerbaijan noted he inaugurated the BTK in 2017 together with his Turkish counterpart.

The Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway is an international rail link project connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, which became operational on 30 October 2017 following several years of delays.
