Azerbaijani PM says joint projects and bilateral relations with Georgia to be of great importance

“We always has friendly and good neighbourly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan,” said Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov during a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

Ali Asadov congratulated Irakli Garibashvili on his appointment as Prime Minister. Azerbaijani PM focused on joint projects implemented by Georgia and Azerbaijan.

“Today, our relations are developing in political, economic, trade, cultural, and many other spheres,” Asadov said.

“We believe that these ties will further develop. There is great potential for further expansion of relations in several spheres. Throughout history, Azerbaijani and Georgian people have lived in friendship and peace. Today, the relations between the countries have risen to the level of strategic partnership, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov said.

Azerbaijani Prime Minister stressed that the large-scale projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia make a great contribution to the energy security of the region and Europe.

Highly assessing the cooperation between the two countries within the Southern Gas Corridor and TAP projects, Asadov stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the relations with Georgia.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his delegation paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on May 5.
