Armenia’s PM says no request came from Georgia regarding his EU Parliament speech
“There were no requests or calls from Georgia, but on the other hand, we have a common agenda that we are working on,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at a briefing with journalists.
Pashinyan was asked whether there had been a request from Georgia to mention in his speech to the European Parliament that the main obstacle to Armenia’s accession to the European Union was the frozen political dialogue between the EU and Georgia.
“I expressed my concern from the rostrum of the European Parliament because we are sincerely worried about the current situation in relations between the EU and Georgia. This worries us,” Pashinyan said.
For information, during his speech at the European Parliament, Pashinyan stated: “We expect and request that a constructive process develop between the EU and Georgia. Georgia is for us a path to the European Union.”
