The restoration of the damaged structural part of the Aragvi River bridge (left direction) on the international Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway will be completed this week. Traffic will open on both lanes, the Roads Department reports.
The mentioned works caused a traffic jam on the lane leading to Tbilisi.
“On March 21, the Roads Department informed the public about the damage to the structural part of the Aragvi River Bridge (left direction) and the need for restoration. Consequently, one lane in the west-east direction was restricted due to the ongoing repair works.
The suggestion that the work was abandoned and could be completed quickly is false. Right now, we are prioritizing the proper durability of the concrete. Once this milestone is achieved, the final step will involve laying asphalt-concrete coating on the roadway. This will enable the resumption of traffic on the limited lane,” the agency reported.
