Anti-Namakhvani protest to continue in Rioni Gorge

Anti-Namakhvani HPP protest is underway in the Rioni Gorge. Protesters remain at the entrance to the village of Gumati. Varlam Goletiani, organizer of the protests said the protest will continue uninterrupted.

“We will block the gorge. The protest will continue to prevent the company employees to resume construction works,” Goletiani claimed.

Opponents of Namakhvani HPP have been holding protests for more than 6 months. Anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters demand that ENKA Investor Company left the Rioni Gorge and that the contract with the company is terminated.
