Anti-Namakhvani protest to continue in Rioni Gorge

Anti-Namakhvani HPP protest will continue in the Rioni Gorge. A journalist of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) reported that some employees of ENKA Company left the gorge.

Varlam Goletiani, organizer of the protests said they had the information that ENKA planned to transfer its personnel from Gumati village to Kutaisi city.

“We will not allow them to return to the gorge. We will block the gorge. The protest will continue to prevent the company employees to resume construction works,” Goletiani claimed.

Opponents of Namakhvani HPP have been holding protests for more than 6 months. Anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters demand that ENKA Investor Company left the Rioni Gorge and that the contract with the company is terminated.
