Today, the Georgian Orthodox Church marks the celebration of Christmas. The traditional Christmas Alilo procession is taking place on January 7.
In Tbilisi, the pilgrimage and choral procession commenced from the First Republic Square.
Donations collected during the Alilo procession will be allocated to orphanages, prisons, and nursing homes.
Since 2000, the solemn Christmas procession, blessed by Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, has been a cherished tradition.
