ADB Director General – Deepwater port is necessary for the Black Sea and Anaklia is the way out
Georgia has the possibility to have a deepwater port in the Black Sea and this will be the possibility not only for Georgia but everybody – said Werner Liepach, Director-General of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Central and West Asia.
“Deepwater port is necessary for the Black Sea and Anaklia is the way out. I know that Anaklia Project has challenges but it is important that the problems are resolved and processes continued normally. This is a big project and needs strong partners, high-class sponsors with rich experience. Also, you need to find the right balance between risks taken both by private and governmental sectors,” Liepach said.
According to ADB Director-General, correct prognosis should be made and discussions should continue to reach an agreement.
