Acting Ukrainian Ambassador appreciates financial support program extension
With assistance from the Georgia Red Cross Society, an information centre for Ukrainian refugees opened at the Tbilisi International Airport. Andrii Kasianov, Ukraine’s Charge d’Affaires in Georgia, attended the launch.
The acting ambassador thanked the Georgian government for extending the social and economic assistance program for Ukrainian refugees by six months.
“The fate of each individual is really apolitical, and we are grateful to everyone who contributes to the practical help of the neediest segment of the Ukrainian society, both in Ukraine and Georgia,” Kasianov stated.
The Georgian Agency for IDPs and Eco-migrants said on November 26 that the social-economic support program for Ukrainian refugees was extended by six months based on an October 25 cabinet meeting decision.
The Agency has spent GEL 1.800.000 on social aid and accommodation for Ukrainian refugees since July 15, GEL 200.000 on temporary housing, and GEL 800.000 on medical care.
