Acting Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized the importance of strengthening and deepening bilateral relationships with partner and friendly countries to achieve strategic goals amidst the present challenging international geopolitical environment. He made this statement during an extended meeting of several parliamentary committees.

According to Ilia Darchiashvili, Georgia will continue deepening strategic relations both with the US and the European countries.

“Georgia will continue deepening its partnership with the US in all priority areas per the Strategic Partnership Charter. At the same time, the development of trade-economic ties remains a priority.
The statements made by the executive and legislative authorities, resolutions, and legislative acts confirm the US political support for the country. Considering the EU candidate country status, special importance will be placed on the development of relations with European countries and raising them to a strategic level,” he said.

Ilia Darchiashvili highlighted a high-level dialogue with Italy, a strategic partnership with Romania, and a joint declaration on a strategic partnership between Georgia and Hungary in 2022.
