Three new judge members of the High Council of Justice (HoJ) were elected at the 33rd Extraordinary Conference of Judges.
Based on the decision made by 270 judges, Irakli Bondarenko, Ketevan Tsintsadze and Rezo Nadaraia will take up posts for a 4-year term.
The balloting was secret and the decision was made by 2/3 of the attendees. The election of new judges followed the expiration of duty terms for Ketevan Tsintsadze, Temur Gogokhia and Levan Mikaberidze. Ketevan Tsintsadze was re-elected.
The HoJ consists of 15 members where 6 members are non-judges and 9-judges. The President and parliament appoint non-judge members, while the Conference of Judges elects the judge members.
