About 29 thousand people will have access to the high-quality internet in Ozurgeti Municipality, Guria region. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili opened the government-initiated pilot program in the region on Friday.
Open Net Company helped to construct the infrastructure. The company will also carry out Log in Georgia project with the support of the World Bank and the National Communications Commission.
Locals of the western Guria region will have access to different services such as online healthcare and governance, remote studying, etc.
The World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Sebastian Molineus, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, Education Minister, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, a member of Communications Commission, Natia Kukuladze and Open Net Director, Mariam Sulaberidze attended the event.
