16th Eurasia IFF: Levan Koghuashvili wins Best Director's Work for his Brighton 4th, co-produced by GPB
Levan Koghuashvili, director of Brighton 4th, was awarded Best Director’s Work at the 16th Eurasia International Film Festival. Koguashvili’s storyline revolves around the Georgian wrestler embarking on a journey to save his kid from debt accrued in Brooklyn gambling. Brighton 4th is co-produced by the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).
The festival’s closing ceremony took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on December 18. Fifty firms from 25 countries participated in various programs of the festival. Three of them were world premieres, Beautiful Helen, Boran and Auyl, as well as the international premiere of the film Don’t bury me without Ivan.
Two Asian premieres, “Cold as Marble” and “The Call of God,” were also held. The audience also saw four films nominated by their countries for the Academy Awards, as well as Esimde, the winner of the Asian Oscar at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
