US Ambassador to Georgia: Political will needed to overcome any crisis
After a little over a year as ambassador, my tenure here has been dominated by Covid but not defined by it, the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan declared in the TV Program Kviris Interview (Interview of the Week) on the Georgian Public Broadcaster.
The US Ambassador accented that the United States and Georgia have shown that friends and partners can solve any difficulties if there is a political will, even in the face of a pandemic, political crisis and a weak economy.
“Now is the time to redouble efforts to achieve Georgia’s top priorities. More integration into the Euro-Atlantic family of nations, building a strong security and defence partnership that is resilient to Russian aggression, strengthening democratic institutions, and, of course, diversifying the economy so that it can withstand the kinds of shocks like a pandemic,” Kelly Degnan stated.
