Two Turkish, Four Uzbek Citizens Detained for Illegal Border Crossing

Border policemen of Ministry of Internal Affairs from the Land Border Defense Department carried out an operation and detained two citizens of Turkey and four citizens of Uzbekistan on charge of an attempt to cross the state border of Georgia illegally.

According to MIA, the crime committed by them envisages imprisonment from 4 to 5 years. Investigation established that the suspects had been attempting to cross the State Border of Georgia illegally without official border control from Georgia to the Republic of Turkey.

Investigation is ongoing on the above-mentioned fact according to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 19-344, Part II, Subparagraph A).
