Mirza Subeliani detained into Khorava Street murder case

New circumstances have been unveiled into Khorava Street murder case, a bloody conflict among teenagers on December 1, 2017, that claimed lives of two juveniles – Natia Mezvrishvili, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs reported during the special briefing.

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained two people – Mirza Subeliani, born in 1979, the high-ranking official of Prosecutor’s Office and father of one of the witnesses of Khorava Street murder case, on charge of non-notification of the crime; and Merab Morchadze, born in 1973, for pressuring a witness to give a false testimony in the court.

Subeliani was first questioned on June 7. His interrogation lasted during 9 hours. Zaza Saralidze, father of Davit Saralidze, teenager killed at Khorava Street in a bloody conflict, accuses Subeliani of protecting murderers.

Two juveniles are sentence to imprisonment into the case. Five underage persons were detained on charge of concealing the crime. About 100 witnesses were questioned into the case within the framework of re-investigation of the case.
