Marina Ezugbaia: Dozens of cases do not scare us, country is ready to deal with it, but citizens should exercise more caution
According to the medical director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, Marina Ezugbaia, the sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Georgia at this stage is due to increased mobility, less compliance with regulations and not the second wave.
According to Ezugbaia, the second wave is expected later in the fall.
“The increase of cases was expected with the onset of fall because this season is more or less associated with an increase in the acute respiratory viral diseases. But the second wave will be in late October or mid-November.
In my opinion, an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Georgia at this stage is due to increased mobility, less compliance with regulations and not the second wave, “- said Ezugbaia.
As Marina Ezugbaia notes Georgia has left the green zone. At the same time, Ezugbaia says that the healthcare sector is ready to deal with this challenge.
“Dozens of cases do not scare us, the country is ready to deal with it, but citizens should exercise more caution”, – She added.
Georgia has reported 87 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today. 20 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
