Georgia received an offer from the International Judo Federation (IJF) regarding the upgrade of the Tbilisi Judo Grand Prix.

IJF offered Georgia to hold the Grand Slam instead of Grand Prix.

A Grand Slam is the biggest event in the IJF World Tour and the most important competition for the athletes.
