The meeting of the Zugdidi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) was disrupted due to no quorum on Friday. The Sakrebulo planned to discuss the Georgian Dream (GD) party’s initiated impeachment of nine politicians.
The GD’s elder MP, Konstantine Uberi, had to chair the meeting. The GD and Ahali party members disputed in the meeting room. Zugdidi Municipality Mayor Mamuka Tsotseria also participated in the conflict.
Representatives of non-governmental organizations were in attendance, protesting the law On Transparency of Foreign Influence.
The Zugdidi City Assembly has 45 members, including 20 from the GD party. Impeachment requires 23 votes.
