A nine-kilometer-long Zestaphoni bypass road opened within the framework of the Rikoti Pass new highway construction project.
The bypass road will lessen traffic and reduce travel time. It will take six minutes to pass the bypass highway, which includes four tunnels and 11 bridges. It will increase road safety standards and ensure comfortable travel.
A passenger service centre, including fast food eateries, will be constructed along the way.
Seventy per cent of the Rikoti Pass highway is complete by now. The Asia Development Bank (ADB) financed the project with a total value of GEL 2.6 billion. The project is expected to complete at the end of 2024.
