Women's Movement marches in Tbilisi

The Women’s Movement marches from Republic Square toward Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.

Members of the Women’s Movement, representatives of non-governmental organizations and civilians are participating in the procession.

The protest participants object to the People’s Power-tabled Transparency of Foreign Influence bill approved by the parliament in the first reading on March 7.

They say that passing the bill would limit women’s rights since it would lead to the withdrawal of western organizations from the country.

The protest participants will read out a manifesto listing the harm the bill will cause to the country. Similar protests are being held in different regions of Georgia.
