Woman pulled from rubble dies at hospital

The woman, who was pulled out from the rubble of the collapsed residential building in Batumi city, has died at hospital.

The Batumi Referral Hospital confirmed the survivor’s death to the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB). The other survivor’s health state is critical. The rescuers discovered five corpses during the rescue efforts.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained three individuals within the ongoing investigation in Batumi residential building collapsing incident.

Part of a five-storey residential building on May 26 Street in Batumi collapsed on October 8. Neighbours say the building had a two-storey extension on top.
