We will support Georgia's efforts, but Georgia's actions are crucial, President Michel says
We welcome the recent steps made in Georgia and will do everything to support Georgia’s efforts, President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated ahead of the EU Leaders’ Summit in Brussels.
He mentioned that the European Commission is expected to release a report on enlargement after the summer of this year. Based on this report, the European Council will decide, most likely in December.
“We welcome the recent steps made in Georgia and will do everything to support Georgia’s efforts, but we will see what will be the report, after the summer. A lot will depend on Georgia. The implementation of the recommendations will be key to allowing the European Council to take decisions regarding Georgia at the end of the year,” stated President Michel.
