The Georgian national water polo team claimed victory at the Danube Cup after defeating Slovakia 18:16 in a tense final match.

Georgia lost the first two quarters (3:4, 3:4), but made a strong comeback, winning the final periods 4:3 and 8:5 to secure the tournament title.

At the Danube Cup, the Georgian team won all three matches, previously defeating Canada (17:11) and Australia (17:9).

The Georgian team is now preparing for the World Cup Division II matches, which will take place in Malta from April 7 to 13. A total of 26 teams will compete, with the top two earning qualification for the final stage.

Georgia has been drawn into Group A, where it will face Turkey, Brazil, and Slovenia.
