Vice Speaker Volski: Global politics is changing, and ‘cohort of rootless’ is trying to keep pace with external forces’ agenda

“The primary objective of the United National Movement is to damage Georgia, wage war against the government, foment instability, and drive a revolutionary agenda. Consequently, they recite whatever their playwright dictates to them; otherwise, they know full well that they did nothing to impede Russia from executing any of its actions,” stated First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Gia Volski.

Volski further noted that while in power, the United National Movement went so far as to sign a resolution asserting that Russia was in the right, thereby accusing Georgian soldiers.

“In practice, they accepted and carried out precisely what they were ordered to do, namely, that accommodation with Russia was required. During that period, Russia was a member of the G8. Today, the situation is entirely different. Today, they expect Georgia to fall into line, given the major shifts in relations with Russia; they are demanding Georgian participation in the war, both economically and militarily. Today, the issue of the Middle Corridor has also acquired far greater urgency.

In this light, anyone who executes such orders is called an agent. What they are engaged in is the very definition of agency network activity. They attempt to point fingers at Georgian Dream, alleging that a Russian policy is being pursued, but they have failed to present a single argument. What step has Georgian Dream taken since 2012 that granted Russia any leverage to advance its policy in the South Caucasus? What has the government ever done to contravene the standards upheld by the European Union?

Global politics is changing, and this cohort of the rootless is trying to keep pace with the agenda of external forces, regardless of whether Georgia is destroyed as a consequence of such a policy. This is the reality before us. To cover up this picture, they rattle off empty words, alleging that Russian policy is being pursued in Georgia. These people are simply playing along with a script authored with the participation of the likes of Juknevičienė, Kallas, Kos, or Kubilius. Global politics has changed, and so too has the strategy of their agency network,” declared Volski.
