First Vice-Speaker of Parliament Gia Volski has accused the opposition of advancing plans for destabilization, including talk of a potential coup.
Volski asserted that no international monitoring organization, including OSCE/ODIHR, has reported election result falsification or violations significant enough to affect outcomes.
“No international monitoring organization has reported election fraud or significant violations impacting the results. On the contrary, we’ve heard numerous positive assessments, including from OSCE/ODIHR representatives,” stated Volski. “In this context, there’s a certain hysteria that has led to extreme forms of protest. I believe, on Monday, we will hear a statement hinting at forms of sabotage targeting the economy, aiming to keep society in a state of tension, which they haven’t managed to do previously.”
Volski added that even opposition voters are not inclined toward destabilizing Georgia.
“The challenges we face are serious, with occupied territories and large-scale wars around us. In this situation, no rational person would support the radical opposition’s efforts toward destabilization or an attempted coup. They are losing supporters and are at odds with them due to failed promises, which will have inevitable consequences for these political parties. For them, radicalizing is a survival tactic, though some among them see it as leading to the loss of what little authority they may have left in society,” he stated.
