Verbal confrontation occurs at plenary

The plenary session in the Parliament of Georgia is ongoing amid the noise.

MPs are discussing the Defence Code in the third reading. However, Tina Bokuchava, chair of the United National Movement faction, and Khatuna Samnidze, an opposition MP, have raised questions about the National Bank and Otar Partskhaladze.

In response, the Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili turned off their microphones, urging them to focus on the ongoing discussion. This led to a verbal confrontation between Khatuna Samnidze and Mamuka Mdinaradze, the ruling Georgian Dream faction chair. Subsequently, Khatuna Samnidze left the session.
