The US Department of State will allocate Georgia USD 88 million as per Fiscal Year 2022 Budget. The financial aid will go to Georgia’s democratization, economic development and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The funding will contribute to institutional scrutiny, balance-building and the rule of law, the development of an even stronger civil society, access to improved, independent, reliable and balanced media, political pluralism, reconciliation efforts, including energy security in the Abkhazia region, and renewable energy security.
Based on the document, the financial aid will help Georgia to carry out necessary reforms for economic development, expanding private sector’s competitiveness and attraction of foreign investments.
The increased funding will also help to increase energy security and cyber-security, as well as economic opportunities and the integration of the population from Russia’s harmful influence.
