US Senate accepts 2023 budget

The U.S. Senate approved the 2023 budget on USD 1.66 trillion government funding providing more assistance for Ukraine’s defense in the amount of USD 45 billion and not less than USD 132,025,000 for Georgia.

Sixty-eight Senators voted in favour of the bill, while 29 were against it. The budget will be submitted to the House of Representatives for passing. US President Joe Biden will then sign it.

Senator Lindsey Graham from the Republican Party proposed an amendment to the bill which would allow seizing assets from Russian oligarchs and transferring them to Ukraine; it was accepted and added to the document.
