US Secretary of Defense visits Vashlijvari special forces base
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has visited the Vashlijvari special forces base during a final stop in Georgia and observed a joint combined exchange training (JCET).
“I had the pleasure of meeting with some of our troops stationed in country. It’s never easy to be stationed away from home, but I wanted to make sure they knew how thankful I am for their service and their sacrifice,” Lloyd Austin said in a tweet.
Earlier today, Secretary Austin held meetings with Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
