The US Embassy in Georgia expresses gratitude to everyone who paid tribute to American Senator John McCain.
“President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, and many other Georgian politicians, as well as private citizens and diplomats of other nations, visited the Embassy of the United States to pay tribute to deceased U.S. Senator John McCain.
For years, Senator McCain strongly supported Georgia and was a friend to the Georgian people.
“Georgia lost a FRIEND, America lost a PATRIOT” – read one of the many notes, left at the Embassy along with flowers.
The U.S. Embassy in Georgia deeply appreciates the sympathy of the Georgian people. Thank you, Georgia!” – Statement released by the US Embassy reads.
