US Embassy: Americans and Georgians are built for long-term partnership, we look forward to next decades of US-Georgian cooperation
“Americans and Georgians are built for a long-term partnership, and we look forward to the next decades of U.S. – Georgian cooperation,” the US Embassy to Georgia released a statement in connection with 30th anniversary of US-Georgia diplomatic relations.
“Today, we commemorate the 30th anniversary of U.S. – Georgian diplomatic relations. The United States is proud of our robust relationship, from partnering to develop and strengthen Georgia’s democratic institutions, to working with Georgian businesses and entrepreneurs to grow and diversify the Georgian economy, to bolstering Georgia’s security and defense which have prepared Georgia to better defend its own territory. The markers of U.S. – Georgian friendship and cooperation span the length and breadth of Georgia. They are evident in the 100 schools we built together through the Millennium Challenge Corporation. They are obvious in the hearts of the thousands of American and Georgian soldiers who trained and served together in NATO theaters. We see them in the public health professionals who worked together to defeat Hepatitis C and continue to battle Covid-19. And they are especially pronounced in the accomplishments of the more than 6000 alumni of United State exchange programs, who have returned to Georgia to make it an even greater country. Americans and Georgians are built for a long-term partnership, and we look forward to the next decades of U.S. – Georgian cooperation.
