US Department of State condemns Georgian citizen's killing in Kirbali village

“We condemn that killing,” said Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State at the briefing on November 7 echoing the deadly shooting of a Georgian citizen and the detention of another individual near Kirbali village.

“It is another example of the destruction that is ongoing that’s being caused by Russia’s occupation of Georgia’s sovereign territory and elsewhere. And it’s something that we’ll continue to monitor and call out as well,” he said.

A Georgian citizen, Tamaz Ginturi, was killed during his illegal detention in the occupied territory of Kirbali village, and another Georgian citizen was abducted on October 6.
