James O’Brien, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs will travel to Tbilisi, Georgia, and Podgorica and Kotor, Montenegro, May 14-17.
According to the US Department of State, in Georgia, James O’Brien will meet with representatives from government, civil society, and the private sector to express the United States’ enduring commitment to the Georgian people and to Georgia’s desire for a peaceful, prosperous, and secure Euro-Atlantic future.
US Assistant Secretary of State echoed the developments in Georgia via the social network.
“We are deeply troubled by the violence & intimidation of those opposing the Georgian draft Kremlin-inspired foreign influence law. We condemn this. A country intent on moving toward the EU and transatlantic organizations would conduct full, independent, and timely investigations,” said James O’Brien.
