US Ambassador says political agreement to be open for individual members to sign
US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan said the past six months have been a difficult long process, but the political leaders worked very hard. She expressed gratitude to Charles Michel and Salome Zourabichvili for the hospitality. Ambassador Degnan stated after the signing of Charles Michel’s compromise paper at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
“This agreement will be open for individual members to sign, and we want it to be as broad-based as it can be,” said US Ambassador to Georgia.
According to the Ambassador, the agreement is a step forward for Georgia.
“We want this to be as broad-based agreement as it can be to show that Georgia has made this important step forward for its democratic future, for its future in the Euro-Atlantic family,” Degnan said.
The Georgian political parties signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
