The US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan said that certain OSCE/ODIHR recommendations weren’t adopted with regards to the electoral system.
However, as the Ambassador noted, now it’s the most important to “ensure that every voter can vote freely, without fear in October”.
“We’re glad and welcome the new reform in the electoral legislature which will create fair and transparent conditions for election. Now it’s time for its full enforcement. There were certain OSCE/ODIHR recommendations that weren’t adopted; however, now it’s most important to thoroughly enforce the legislature in order to ensure that every voter can vote freely, without fear in October,” Degnan said.
