UNM’s Tsitlidze: I couldn’t care less what happens in Opposition Alliance; I predicted their present troubles from day one

“In all likelihood, the question of our party remaining in the Opposition Alliance will not be raised at the convention because there are other challenges, and the convention must address other issues,” stated Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the United National Movement.

According to Tsitlidze, a decision on this matter ought to be taken by the broader party membership.

“Once we have a renewed mandate after the convention, this issue will in all probability be placed on the agenda. I repeat once more: this is a decision that must be made by the wider party membership, by which I mean a vote with the broadest possible participation of party members, rather than within the format of some secretariat, political council, or convention. It must be a public discussion and vote. I doubt this issue will be raised at the upcoming convention; there are so many technical matters to get through that there won’t be enough time for this.

As for the Opposition Alliance, I believe I am the least qualified person to ask about it, as I couldn’t care less what goes on in that alliance, just as I haven’t cared from the very day of its inception, when I foresaw the exact predicament they now find themselves in,” Tsitlidze said.
