UNM’s Sanikidze urges October 4 rally organizers to speak out on plan deviations
Levan Sanikidze, a member of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), called on the organizers of the October 4 rally to speak out and provide clarity regarding the events of that day, including who was involved in changing the initial plan.
“It is essential to hear directly from the organizers and the organizing group. Even before the arrests, there were talks of betrayal, influential figures, and deviations from the plan. Family members of the detainees have also raised these concerns. Therefore, the organizers must provide detailed explanations about what happened on October 4—who changed the plan, how it was altered, and why there are discussions of betrayal and abandonment,” Sanikidze stated.
When asked whether he takes responsibility for the injuries sustained during the rally, Sanikidze responded: “I take full responsibility for the large gathering on October 4 and for preventing Ivanishvili’s legitimization on that day. To my knowledge, this was never part of the original plan, and the vast majority of participants were unaware of it. I am confident that once the plan is fully explained and the traitors identified, much more will come to light.”
