UNM’s Pavlenishvili: We wish everyone success in fighting Ivanishvili, not in fighting the UNM or Saakashvili
“We wish everyone success in the struggle against Ivanishvili so long as that struggle is directed against Ivanishvili, rather than targeted at the United National Movement and Mikheil Saakashvili,” stated Irakli Pavlenishvili, Chairman of the UNM Interim Governing Council.
“The public is exhausted by these relentless internal attacks, which is why I have no intention of engaging in them any longer. I repeat: I wish everyone success. Regardless of how unacceptable their statements and actions toward us have been, if they genuinely confront and fight Ivanishvili, I wish them well. I would hope they soon cease their accusations, character assassination, and gossip directed at the United National Movement,” Pavlenishvili noted.
Responding to a question about a social media post by party colleague Levan Khabeishvili, which criticised opposition inertia and called for “overcoming fear and taking decisive steps”, Pavlenishvili confirmed that he fully endorses the sentiment.
“I certainly share that message, which is precisely why I am making this statement; I do not intend to keep repeating myself indefinitely. Everyone understands where things stand; unfortunately, those on the other side refused to sit down for a debate. What is needed now is a focused struggle against Ivanishvili, and I wish everyone success in that endeavour, regardless of the attacks they have launched against us,” Pavlenishvili stated.
