UNM’s Pavlenishvili: Saakashvili always had constructive feedback for opposition; he sacrificed his life and health to fight for this country

“Campaigning against Mikheil Saakashvili is pointless because this man is Putin and Ivanishvili’s primary opponent. Therefore, people in the opposition, whether behind bars or at liberty, should focus their efforts elsewhere. They cannot bar anyone from publishing or sharing their positions, as this man has every right to do so,” stated United National Movement member Irakli Pavlenishvili.

According to him, Saakashvili has been unlawfully imprisoned for five years, and his critics ought to think twice before calling for any restrictions against him.

“Mikheil Saakashvili has always offered constructive feedback and advice to the opposition, and they would do well to take it on board. For instance, a close friend, aide, and political protégé of Mikheil Saakashvili is currently a candidate for the French presidency, alongside other individuals spearheading reforms worldwide. They could certainly stand to learn from his advice and critiques. Such remarks are deeply regrettable. For the most part, these criticisms come from the very people who pose the main challenge to this country. This has always been the stance of Ivanishvili, Putin, and others, and it is a shame if anyone echoes their narrative out of a personal grudge. Our primary focus must remain on Ivanishvili and the regime. Saakashvili has been a political prisoner for five years, and I fail to see the purpose of this campaign against him. Mikheil Saakashvili returned and sacrificed his life and health to fight for this country’s freedom. No one is interested in bickering over minor details or gossip,” Pavlenishvili said.
