UNM’s Khabeishvili: Don’t pay attention to so-called oppositionists; instead, listen to people united around October 4
“Do not be distracted by the so-called oppositionists who occupy TV air to pass the time, or by the ‘leaders’ who look down from three floors up and try to ‘float’ in politics,” chairman of the Political Council of the opposition United National Movement party, Levan Khabeishvili, wrote on his Facebook page.
He urged people to listen to their own hearts, and the people united around October 4. Khabeishvili claimed that the government’s actions against him only proved the strength of society.
“Fear, failure and capitulation were imprisoned by Ivanishvili and Mdinaradze. They are not afraid of me — they are afraid of you, the people. They detained me because I held up a mirror and showed every city, village, and household their victorious face. They tried to destroy that mirror, but it has already become a flag carried by many hands, lodged in the hearts of our people,” he wrote.
According to Khabeishvili, October 4 should be considered a “national day of victory,” when citizens will defend what they value most — the homeland.
“Listen to your own heartbeat and to those who radiate victory, united around October 4 and prepared to fight to the end. By detaining me, Ivanishvili and his team only revealed their weakness. Victory depends on our determination and unity,” Khabeishvili noted, adding: “May God bless Georgia.”
