UNM's Bokuchava: Putin ordered 'treason commission' following Georgia’s acquittal in Hague, Strasbourg

“Georgia was acquitted in The Hague and Strasbourg, a verdict that angered Putin. In response, he ordered the creation of a so-called “treason commission,” led by Tea Tsulukiani,  a second-generation Soviet executioner. Just as her father once sentenced Georgian citizens to death under the Soviet regime, today Tea Tsulukiani seeks to sentence the Georgian state to death,” said the chairwoman of the United National Movement party, Tina Bokuchava.

She stated that it has once again become clear that the country is under the control of an anti-Georgian, anti-national criminal group, which, acting on Putin’s orders, is attempting to rewrite Georgia’s recent history and place the blame for the war on Georgia.

“Today we witnessed a court that has turned into a nest of injustice, where the so-called political slave, Mchedlishvili, sentenced eight young people to prison. At the same time, those who have seized control of the Georgian Parliament made the entire country watch the chronicle of betrayal unfold live on air. Tea Tsulukiani was not passing judgment on one or two individuals, or even on a political party—she was passing judgment on the Georgian state.

It has once again become clear that our country has been taken over by the most anti-Georgian, anti-national group of criminals, who—on Putin’s instructions—are trying to rewrite our recent history, blame the war on Georgia, vilify our national heroes, and ultimately lead the country toward Russia’s main goal: the destruction of the Georgian state, its enslavement to Russia, and its territorial dismemberment. Ivanishvili’s Russian regime is preparing this betrayal, and it is our duty to stop it with united forces,” Bokuchava declared.
