Supporters of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party departed from the Adjara and Guria regions and headed towards Tbilisi to attend the UNM-organized protest rally in Georgia’s capital.
UNM supporters gathered at the Black Sea Arena in Shekvetili seaside resort. They demand jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s release.
“Freedom to Mikheil Saakashvili, who has a birthday today. Unfortunately, he will celebrate his birthday in prison this year. We set for Tbilisi in solidarity. We all agree that nobody is happy to see Misha in prison except Russia and the Georgian Dream. Misha should be at the forefront of the development and reconstruction of this country. He will soon leave prison,” said Bondo Tedoradze, a member of the Adjara UNM organization.
The United National Movement (UNM) party announced holding a large-scale rally on December 21 in Tbilisi.
