UNM stages rally in Rike Park demanding ex-President Saakashvili’s release [PHOTOS]

The United National Movement (UNM) party is currently holding a protest rally in Tbilisi’s Rike Park.

Demonstrators are demanding the immediate release of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Protesters in Rike Park have displayed banners reading: ‘Freedom for Mikheil Saakashvili’ and ‘Mr Trump, the Georgian People Demand the MEGOBARI Act’.

Demonstrators are also carrying portraits of senior UNM opposition figures, including Levan Khabeishvili, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Zviad Kuprava, and Giorgi Baramidze.

The rally opened with a rendition of the Georgian national anthem, and keynote political speeches are now underway.
