UNM says too early to speak about coalitions in opposition

It is way too early to speak about forming a coalition within the opposition, said Petre Tsiskarishvili, General Secretary of the United National Movement (UNM) party.

According to Tsiskarishvili, representatives of the opposition parties met Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau about the significance of the opposition’s coordinated actions and the involvement of Western partners to ensure fair and free elections in 2024.

“We have to minimize the damage which the Georgian Dream may inflict on the country in the coming months,” he said.

Tsiskarishvili went on to say that the Georgian people may demand early elections if Georgia does not receive the EU candidate status. This demand would be the “logical continuation” of the developments because, despite the nation’s aspirations, the government hardly implement the needed reforms.
